Exciting developments are unfolding for those of us with a connection to the art of Alex Grey and the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors project.  The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors organization has just been offered 3,400 square feet of exhibition space in the heart of the contemporary art world, the Chelsea district of Manhattan, for a five year period.  Our address will be 540 West
27th Street, on the fourth floor of the Spirit New York building.  

In addition to being a unique pilgrimage place for mind expanding
contemplation, the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York City will host programs, events and workshops that promote the connection of art and spirituality.  Spirit New York is very kindly donating the space, but the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors must renovate the raw industrial loft.  We will need to pay for staff, insurance, utilities and equipment to keep the Chapel open and functioning year round.  Estimates for renovation alone are around $100,000.

We are seeking your support in raising funds to match a $25,000 challenge grant offered by a friend of the Chapel named John Gilmore. Your contribution, even of a small amount, will automatically be doubled due to John's generosity.  The Chelsea Chapel space will be designed to act as a tool for transformation, a spiritual catalyst for visitors.  It will also serve as a walk-in brochure for the larger task of raising the 5 million dollars needed to realize our long term goal: building third millenium sacred archictecture to house the Sacred Mirrors collection. 

We plan to announce the building site for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors next year.  World reknowned architect, Keith Critchlow, a leading expert in sacred geometry, has embarked on the design work.  Over the next five years while located in Chelsea we will begin our capital fund-raising efforts in earnest.
